I had a call the other day from a gent who collects coins himself and has quite a nice collection of older Australian coins. He wanted to sell all his doubles so I ended up buying everything he had some nice old florins,some shillings and plenty of sixpence and threepence.

Phil here from Brisbane coin and collectable group, has been a busy week with publications this week. My sons bought me a copy of Renniks Australian Pre-Decimal coin varieties, the 2nd edition. We have been spending the weekend sorting out all my old Australian Pennies into years and condition, then looking thru all the different years for a few different varieties. I found a dropped 1 1931 penny, a 1955 penny where the number 1 is only just visible, and various other pennies with die faults and damage.
Also the new edition of Australasian Coin & Banknote magazine come out this week and there is a interesting article in there about penny varietys from 1962, 1963, 1964 its always a good read. Phil is back again.
Bought a great collection of old Australian coins & banknotes from a retired gentlemen who needed some cash to pay some bills. Got a full album of Florins ,some nice Shillings and Sixpences. A full album of all different 50 cent pieces including all the different state 50 cents.
Got some old five and ten pound notes including some ten shilling notes. Aswell as a pile of old paper $1 and $2 notes. A great buy and I am still sorting thru it all. Remember if you need a coin buyer in Brisbane call phil on 0447 070 288

Phil here again from Brisbane Coins and collectable group, Just received my new 2019 edition of Australian Coins and Banknotes by Greg McDonald.
A great tool for all coin collectors to be able to lay your hands on a book that has every Australian coin and banknote that we might find that gives us a idea on how much they are worth how many were made and where they were made is pretty valuable information for me.
I managed to get a couple of 1934/35 Melbourne Centenary Florins the other day in very nice condition a great find for the collection, if you have a collection of Florins you want to sell please give phil a call on 0447 070 288.
